🍁Japanese traditional instrument concert to celebrate autumn

We are pleased to announce a concert featuring traditional Japanese musical instruments, a fitting event for the bountiful autumn season.

September 6th (Sun) "The 32nd Ayuchi-no-kai Koto Concert"

As summer ends and the seasons shift to early autumn, the 32nd Ayuchi-no-kai Koto Concert will be held at the Nishibi Creative Center in Kiyosu City.

The event is organized by the "Ayuchi no Kai," a group dedicated to preserving the beautiful traditions of the koto. Joined by members of the local Nishibiwajima Junior High School's Japanese Music Club, a selection of moving classic and contemporary koto pieces, including "Hatsuuguisu" and "Chidori no Kyoku," will resonate throughout the Doremi Hall.

This is a free event where you can easily participate even if you're wearing Western clothes, as well as kimono. Why not take a break from your daily routine and spend some time relaxing and letting your heart soften while listening to the soul-cleansing sound of the koto?

As autumn deepens in October, there's another fantastic Japanese musical instrument performance that you won't want to miss.

The 47th Tozan-ryu Shakuhachi Regular Concert, a large-scale shakuhachi performance, will be held at "WINC Aichi," located right next to Nagoya Station.

This year's event marks a special milestone, commemorating the 130th anniversary of the founding of the Tozan-ryu school and the 150th anniversary of the birth of its founder. We are pleased to welcome Living National Treasure Mineyama Nomura and Vice President of Tokyo University of the Arts, Michizan Fujiwara, as special guests, and the powerful yet delicate sounds of the shakuhachi, carrying on the tradition, will resonate throughout the grand hall.
